BIO: Corey J. Willis is an American artist based in Savannah, Georgia, where he serves as a faculty member in Foundation Studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Originally from Philadelphia and a graduate of Chestnut Hill Academy, Willis earned his BA from Tufts University, during which time he expanded his global perspective through studies at the University of New South Wales and the University of Western Australia. He resides in Savannah with his wife, Sohee, and their young daughter, Yuni. A recipient of the prestigious New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) Fellowship in Photography, Willis has engaged in extensive international research, including consecutive summer and winter residencies with SÍM (The Association of Icelandic Visual Artists) in Reykjavík and Greenland. His commitment to artistic development is further marked by residencies at the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in Maine and the Chashama/ChaNorth residency program in upstate New York, supported by the Durst Organization.
