A Beginning and End

Nine years ago, I put my hand in her cage. Her nose touched my hand and the spark of love was created.  Every day, we snuggled, played and greeted each other. Now, we talk about blood work,  x-rays, CT scans and Sonograms. The end is near, tears are shed but her memory will be eternal.
