expectations; failures

These faceless bodies

are waves washing upon

us.

Tides of cadavers,

crest and swell; crashing at our

ankles.

An abyss drinks the sand beneath us;

a slow, deep inhale, rises above our

waste.

Capacious grey walls of

expectations paint greedily up our torso;

sinking.

Dragging deeper and

deeper, into the crushing indefensible

space.

We become nothing.

And the shadows of the

surf,

drain into the beach,

like blood into a

carpet…
